The most important event of the Croatian Camellia Society in 2010 was the Main Camellia exhibition, which took place within the 14th International Flower Fair in Ludbreg from 7 -9 May.

The most famous legend says that Ludbreg is the centre of the world. i.e. Centrum mundi, since, as was claimed in ancient times, the earth circles were expanding concentrically from Ludbreg, and the position of all larger European cities was determined according to them.

Old Romans. appreciating the good geographic position, built Castrum lovia on the site of today's Ludbreg.

The Main Camellia Exhibition took place at the gallery Centrum Mundi.

Ludbreg becomes a Town of Flowers each year. The International Flower Fair takes place, and almost all streets and squares become a large fair with open air stands, lots of entertainment and plenty of local food, drinks and flowers.

There was a 'The Lady of the Camellias' beauty contest to end the Fair.

There were 14 candidates - 14 camellias: 'Lady Clare' ('Akashi-gata'). 'Berenice Body', 'Oki No Nami'. 'Barbara Woodroof', 'Bonomiana', 'Margherita Serra', Elegans', 'Snowman'. 'Cleopatra', 'Pillnizer Kamelia', 'Tomorrows Tropic Dawn', 'Meisner Porzellan, 'Bogliasco' and 'Camellia oleifera'.

Members of the jury: Barbara Othman - opera singer, Alen Sabol, president ofthe jury and Darko Gjurgjan president of the CCS had a very difficult task. They had to choose, not only the most beautilul, hut also attractive, charming and gracious, as it relates to the camellia.

The most attractive was 'Camellia oleifera: Mrs. Biserka Gložinić
